The 22-year-old Brazil international scored twice during a 6-0 pre-season defeat of Mexican side, Leon on Monday.
But less than a week after being given the all-clear from the fractured vertebra he suffered at the World Cup, Neymar was injured in training.
"Tests have shown a grade one sprain," said a Barcelona statement. "His return to training will depend on how the injury treatment evolves."
Barcelona begin the season under new coach Luis Enrique having overhauled their squad following their first season without a major trophy in six years.
They paid a reported £75m to sign Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez, although Barcelona subsequently said the figure was nearer £65m, while defender Thomas Vermaelen was bought from Arsenal for £15m.
They have also signed goalkeepers Claudio Bravo and Marc-Andre ter Stegen, defender Jeremy Mathieu and midfielder Ivan Rakitic

While it is true that twins can bring double the joy, parenting twins can also require double the work -- at least initially.
"This is survival mode," says Jennifer Walker, Atlanta-based pediatric nurse and co-author of The Moms on Call Guide to Basic Baby Care. Walker is also a mother of twins.
The key to not feeling you're over your head with twins is planning ahead. Here's what the experts say.
1. No schedule means no life for you.
"It's hard enough with a single baby, but when you have newborn twins, things have to be on a schedule," Walker says. "You want to get the babies on the same feeding and napping schedules. They will eventually learn to adapt."2. You can breastfeed both babies at the same time -- really!
"If you breastfeed, you can feed both babies at the same time with one twin on each breast. But it takes great coordination and patience," Walker says. "I personally did not like the way it felt."She recalls that breastfeeding her newborn twins felt like she was balancing two bobbing heads. The solution? "I breast-fed one and bottle-fed the other," she says. "I would sit down on the floor, breastfeeding one infant while the other lay on a pillow in front of me or on my side with a bottle. The whole feeding experience would take me 45 minutes total."
3. One crib is fine in the beginning.
"Newborn twins can certainly remain in the same crib initially," Walker says. "If they sleep better when they know the other is close by, crib-sharing can last up until they move into their childhood beds."Many parents may make the switch to two cribs when the twins begin to roll, bump into one another, and wake each other up, she says.
While one crib is fine, two car seats and a double-stroller are absolute musts for newborn twins.
4. Newborn twins may be more likely to have respiratory problems.
Newborn twins are more likely to be born early and underweight. "Preemies often have more respiratory issues because their lungs may not be as developed as babies born at term," pediatrician Alan Rosenbloom says. This doesn't mean that both premature newborn twins will have respiratory issues. "If you have two premature twins born at 32 weeks and one needs a breathing tube, this twin may be more likely to have respiratory issues down the road than a twin who had slightly more mature lungs and only needed some oxygen via a nasal cannula."5. Newborn twins share everything -- including germs.
"Twins are like all siblings in that they certainly get each other's illnesses," Rosenbloom says. If one twin has a contagious infection, the sibling has the same risk of getting it as he or she would if someone else in the house had that infection, he says. Parents of newborn twins may consider separating the two if one comes down with a contagious illness right after birth. "Mobility is less of an issue early on, so if one twin has chickenpox, you can separate them and let the healthy twin stay somewhere else to minimize the risk," he says. "You can’t reduce the risk to zero, but you can control it better."6. Twins may be similar, but they are also different.
Encourage the differences between twins and never compare them to one another, says mom of twins and developmental pediatrician Randye Huron. She’s the chief of developmental pediatrics and the director of the Institute for Child Development at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. "Most children do have their own strengths and weaknesses, and twins are no exception," Huron says. "My daughter loves ballet and art, and my son likes sports. I encourage the differences to minimize competition and comparisons," she says. "Never say, 'Your sister is behaving, so why aren't you?'"Separating the twins eventually is also helpful. "It is in their best interest to be separated and to get their own group of friends," she says. Separate time with parents and separate play dates encourage independent decision-making.
7. Parenting twins gets easier and easier.
University of Texas maternal-fetal medicine director and mother of twins Manju Monga says, "Young twins are easier to raise, have each other to play with, and sleep better than singletons once they turn 2."

While many new bloggers write content and pray for others to come, proactive bloggers reach out to others in their field, write amazingly good content, and quickly build a name for themselves.
I’m surprised why more people don’t do it: You get exposure to new readers on massively popular blogs, create tons of links, and get new subscribers to your blog’s RSS and email subscriptions. When done right, traffic increases in a powerful step-function, and when done regularly, guest posting is one of the best techniques for getting more and more qualified readers.
What I’m looking for
I’m thrilled to send lots of traffic to people with interesting ideas — especially up-and-coming bloggers. I’ll speak for myself, although many high-traffic bloggers will tell you the same thing: If your guest post is simply a rehashed old point, it’s dead in the water. Here’s what I look for.- Original content that tells my readers something new. This is simply the most important factor of all.
- Posts that are backed up by research, charts, data, and expert quotes, not your opinion. It’s easy to write what you think. It’s much harder to produce data that backs up an argument.
- Substantive discussion. Short posts usually get rejected (though there are exceptions).
Common mistakes with guest posts
- Writing the guest post before you pitch me. Please send me multiple story ideas, with bullet-pointed sub-points, and let me suggest the best one for my audience. See sample pitch below.
- Not doing your research. Here’s a 2-part suggestion: (1) Note how I format my posts, then copy it. When I submitted to Tim, for example, I noticed that he uses a large image with a small caption, then long, detailed posts. Here’s my guest post for him. (2) Writing something called “Credit cards are evil!” also reveals that you’ve never read my site and its key messages. Educate yourself. Here’s an over-the-top example of doing research before submitting a guest post — and it works.
- Not sending writing samples. Bloggers are lazy and risk-averse. I don’t want to invest a bunch of time in back-and-forth email exchanges if the end result turns out to be a crappy post that I can’t use, and I don’t want to disappoint you by saying “no” after you put in all that work. If you don’t have writing samples, get some — start by guest-posting on smaller blogs. Always include writing samples — preferably ones written on other blogs — so I can see if your writing style is a good fit.
- Limiting yourself to guest posts in your domain. There’s no
reason to. My site isn’t just about personal finance, it’s about
entrepreneurship, optimization, lifehacking, etc. If you have an
interesting guest post on how you altered your car to make it drive
longer, or how politicians get policy wrong, I might be interested.Check
out Tim Ferriss’s take on this:
“Trackbacks from diverse leading blogs and guest posts on popular sites like Huffington Post. To the first point, I write on a diverse range of topics, so I can get linked to from more social circles. From muscle building to ultralight travel, I tie it all into a larger concept of ‘lifestyle design.’”
This is a classic application of the Kevin Bacon game, who was the most-connected actor because he had acted in high-value movies, low-value movies, and everything in between (whereas Tom Cruise mostly acts in high-value movies only). - Submitting trite linkbait. Here’s an example of a post I will never run: “23 reasons equities are doomed!” 99% of list-y articles are idiotic link-bait and will be forgotten by the next day. High-traffic sites, for the most part, want great articles that will stand the test of time.
- Making the blog post all about your opinion. Nobody cares about you. Use research, charts, and expert quotes to back up your argument, and create an interesting thesis. Not convinced? Witness the citations in the back of any Malcolm Gladwell book as evidence. And he’s Malcolm Gladwell. Yeah, it takes work.
- Underestimating how long it takes to write a good post. My post on Tim’s blog (see below) took over 18 hours to write. It sold hundreds of books in 24 hours.
- Including your affiliate links. Just don’t do it. In fact, if you’re linking to another Amazon book, you should add myAmazon code (see next bullet point) to make my life easier.
- Making me do additional work. When you submit the final guest post, it should be fully ready to be inserted into WordPress and it will just magically work. This means you should write your byline, format your post, add images on your own server (but also attach them to the email), and otherwise make it 100% ready to go. More on this here.
Guest posts I’ve written
Here are some examples of guest posts I’ve written on other blogs. They take me, on average, 12 hours to write each but produce excellent ROI — the other bloggers are happy because they get fresh new content, the commenters get something interesting to talk about, and I get cross-traffic. Spending an extra few hours to make a guest post shine is what makes the difference between a mediocre response and over-the-top success.- The Psychology of Automation: Building a bulletproof personal-finance system (Four Hour Workweek)

Steps to writing a guest post on a high-traffic blog
- Read my blog. Leave several thoughtful comments so I get to know you.
- Have your own blog. This isn’t necessary, but 100% of my past guest posters have had their own blog.
- Send me a quick note with your pitch. Here’s an example:
Subject: 3 guest post ideas: Rebalancing, automation, & eating outIf I agree, write up the article and send it completely done. Here’s one of the best guest-post emails I’ve ever received:
Hi Ramit,
My name is Mike and I run mikesfakeblog.com. My site hosts about 25,000 readers/month and I’m trying to grow it by reaching out to other bloggers. I’ve been reading your site for 3 years and I’m a big fan (my favorite post was your $28,000 question on weddings…so true how we all delude ourselves).
I’m interested in writing a guest post for you — something you’ve never posted on — and I have 3 ideas that I think your readers would love:
REBALANCING

I know you’re busy, so I can write everything up and send it to you in one document, which you can drop right into WordPress. I’ll handle all editing, bylines, etc (feel free to edit) so this is super-easy for you. Plus, I promise the guest posts will get your readers thinking and talking to each other.
What do you think?
Thanks,
-Mike
The results of effective great posts
There are tangible and intangible results of effective guest posts. The first is traffic, but most importantly, it’s targeted traffic of people who care about hearing what you have to say. Next, you build relationships with bloggers, who’ll be far more likely to run future guest posts of yours. Third, you start to become better-known in your community, whether it’s personal-finance bloggers, fitness fanatics, etc. As you build a reputation, this intangible result becomes increasingly important.Specific must-dos for guest posts
Be specific: SHOW, don’t tell. Writing a guest post that says “Spend less than you make” leads to two things: Me wanting to kill you, and my readers saying “Tell me something I don’t know.” If you have an interesting technique for saving, earning, automating, or investing money, show us how you did it. Use screenshots, spreadsheets, and examples. Here are 30 tips with tons of tactical content — they are good examples to start with when thinking about writing a guest post.Create a Catcher’s Mitt. This one gets overlooked a lot. When you write a guest post and it gets accepted, make sure your site is ready to accept new readers. Think about it: If a bunch of new readers come to your blog and see your last 5 posts have been about your cat, microwave, and favorite cereal, they’re never coming back. I like to create what I call a “catcher’s mitt,” or some way to gently receive new readers. This might be a “Welcome, I Will Teach You To Be Rich readers…check out my top posts” box, or something similar. Just remember to engage new readers, because it’s trivially easy to leave your website. This is the last mile.

Today, I’m going to share a strategy I’ve used to get regularly featured in The Wall Street Journal and extremely high-traffic blogs like Lifehacker.
You can skip right to the detailed writeup (includes examples & screenshots), but I hope the story below is useful.
This advice can be useful for getting thousands of new readers to your blog, customers to your new startup, or to get your dream freelance job. And you can start using it tomorrow morning.
So, back to the question: Why do some bloggers get the lion’s share of attention, while others toil endlessly to write posts that virtually nobody will ever read?
On a recent forum where both new and experienced bloggers share tips for getting traffic, SEO, etc, most of the discussions were debating minutiae about meaningless changes they could make to their blog to get more readers. “What SEO plugin should I use?” one asked. “Does anyone think I should change my blog’s name???” another wondered. After 20 minutes of reading, I had to close the window because I was getting so frustrated.
Look, here’s a simple chart of what matters for getting traffic for your site.
The Guest Post Strategy
Besides writing really good content, the easiest way to get traffic to your blog is to write something interesting for another blogger who has more traffic than you. It’s funny — when you point this out to many new bloggers by saying, “Hey, why don’t you write up something really good and send it to a bigger blogger as a guest post?” — many of them quickly make up a bunch of excuses. “Well, uh…I am really busy this weekend” or “I’m in the middle of this really interesting post on how HSBC interest rates changed!” Yes, okay.
But it’s not just as simple as deciding to write a guest post. When it comes to high-traffic bloggers, there are very specific ways to approach them so they’ll accept your pitch.
Before we get to the tactics…
Who could apply this strategy? 3 examples
Like I said, this works for bloggers and many other areas of business:- You’re a new blogger who wants more traffic: If
you’re a blogger and you’re looking to grow traffic, put yourself in the
mind of bloggers with large readerships: They’re busy, they have huge
egos, and they need to constantly post new, interesting stuff to satisfy
their readers’ voracious appetites for content. Could you write one
piece of excellent content for them?
As an example, here were the results of Nora Dunn’s travel post
earlier this week, which drove nearly 100,000 pageviews in 72 hours.
I’ve already invited her to have a regular guest spot on I Will Teach
You To Be Rich.
- You want to break into the fashion industry: Or let’s say you read fashion magazines and really want to break into the industry. The magazine needs fresh perspectives, especially things that haven’t been done (think Money Diaries for a magazine, for example). How could you help them?
- You just started a new company and need customers: How about if you’re starting a business on Christmas ornaments, and you aren’t sure how to get traffic to your website. The first thing I would do is record some interesting videos for other Christmas sites and give them away for free.
How to get hundreds of thousands of new visitors using the Guest Post strategy
I’ve written up a detailed post with the tactics for writing successful guest posts for high-traffic bloggers. This post and the writeup took me over 9 hours to write, which gives you a sense of how much time these take. But when you do it, you can get hundreds of thousands of new readers and many thousands of new customers for your business.- Read how: Tactics for writing winning guest posts for high-traffic bloggers (includes examples & screenshots)
- Save money: If you like the kind of tactical tips I’m giving you, check out Scrooge Strategy, where I send out one highly tactical savings tip per week. You’ll get super-detailed tips on big wins
for saving money that really work (not stupid tips on saving money on
$3 lattes). Many of my customers save hundreds of dollars within the
first 30 days, and there’s a 100% money-back guarantee.
